The kitespot
Blue Wave Kitesurfing is located at St. Joris Bay. This is situated on the northeast side of Curaçao.
St. Joris Bay is guaranteed to be the best kitesurfing spot on the island. The wind has an average speed of 17-22 knots 300+ days a year. The best wind season is from January to August.
From September to December, there is also plenty of kitesurfing, but during this period it may happen that there is insufficient wind and that lessons are rescheduled to the next day.
The wind at the bay is always onshore and constant, which is essential for beginners. The saltwater averages 28 degrees. The water is flat and remains shallow for a long time, which is perfect for beginning kiteboarders.
