Do I need to be able to swim?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It is important that you feel comfortable in the water and can swim independently. An impact vest or life jacket is available during the lessons.

Am I fit enough to learn kitesurfing?

Accepted Answer

For most people, a normal basic level of fitness is sufficient. Kitesurfing primarily requires technique and coordination, not a lot of strength. Do you have an injury or medical condition? Please let us know in advance so that we can take this into account if necessary.

Regular swimwear is sufficient. We provide water shoes and rashguards/UV shirts for you during the lessons.

How long does a kite lesson last?

Our private lessons last 2 hours. Duo lessons last 3 hours, so that both participants have sufficient time on the water.Do you have a preference for a shorter or longer lesson? Or are you with a larger group? No problem! We are flexible. Feel free to contact us, and we will discuss your wishes and the possibilities.

Can I prepare for my first kite lesson?

Yes. After booking your first kitesurfing lesson, you will receive a number of videos that you can watch in advance. These introduce you to topics such as safety systems, the wind window, and body dragging. This is not mandatory, but it can help you become familiar with the basics of kitesurfing more quickly.

How many kite lessons do I need?

This varies from person to person. Everyone learns at their own pace. Factors such as natural ability, learning pace, wind conditions, previous watersports experience and the time between lessons all play a role.As a general guideline, we often see that the average student with no previous watersports experience needs around five kite lessons before they can kitesurf independently. Talented students, with experience in windsurfing, skating, wakeboarding, or snowboarding, for example, can sometimes continue practicing on their own after just two lessons.During each lesson, we look together at the next step in your learning process. Is there a minimum age for kite lessons?

Yes. The minimum age for our kite lessons is 10 years. For younger children, we offer a special kitesurfing experience where they are introduced to the sport in a safe and playful way.For families, we offer a special combo deal where older children and parents receive kite lessons. Children under 10 can go on a board ride or monkey ride with the instructor and practice with a trainer kite on land.
